I love having nice things but hate spending money. I not only love dressing well but I also like having things that will last me a long time.
Although I have a good job, I’m still in college AND paying for it so I can’t buy things like I used to. I’ve been working and saving money since I was 16 but at first getting the best deals on things wasn’t my first thought. Although I bought my first laptop and camera on sale and definitely dropped money on dumb things, leaving me to always question my purchases now.
So told I’m going to tell you about some of my secrets to still having nice things, but still being mindful with my spending
1. Honey
Honey is an app you install in your browser. When you go to check out when shopping online, Honey runs all coupon codes on the internet to get you the best deals. Of course this doesn’t work with a lot of things (like Apple, UGG, etc.) most of the time, I use it for stores like FashionNova.
2. Look At Apps Before You Buy New
Apps like Mercari have great deals on a lot of designer things. I buy most of my bags and wallets from here for sometimes never used and half the price! I also know if you’re into sneakers (and don’t have to wear boys sizes like myself smh) these apps are a great place to buy shoes also although I’ve noticed it’s not always that much cheaper, you can still save money.
3. Dollar Stores
My friends make fun of me because of how much I love Dollar Tree. But it’s crazy how much money you can save on simple things shopping there. People spend a lot of money of things that you can get just as good cheap, I say this all the time, if I’m going to eat a bag of chips in a day, why spend $5 when I can spend one. You honestly wouldn’t believe some of the great things you can find at dollar stores.
4. ALWAYS Look For Sales
Do your research before you buy. It can save you so much. Also if you were women’s shoes, check and see what your size is in boys and you can get them for a lot less! Reverse image search stuff and know what seasons to buy what!
5. Avoid Going Shopping Without A Plan
If you just go to the store to go shopping you don’t have time do do research to find deals or know if you really like something. I’ve done this before with shoes and I’m definitely stuck with some expensive sneakers I don’t even wear.
That’s all I got for now, but I can’t wait to continue this series.
Be Happy.
