I love having nice things but hate spending money. I not only love dressing well but I also  like having things that will last me a long time.

Although I have a good job, I’m still in college AND paying for it so I can’t buy things like I used to. I’ve been working and saving money since I was 16 but at first getting the best deals on things wasn’t my first thought. Although I bought my first laptop and camera on sale and definitely dropped money on dumb things, leaving me to always question my purchases now.

What I Learned From Going To College Out Of State

Be Happy, College, Lifestyle

No matter where you go to college you have a lot of new experiences, but when going somewhere out of state, you obviously can have different expierences. You don’t have your family, friends, and likely don’t know anyone there.

Today, I finished my freshmen year of college. Although I only go to school one state away, 240 miles to be exact, it was still a completely new experience for me.

When I first got here I talked to EVERYONE, which was a new thing for me. Even though I am a relatively friendly person, most of the time, I never really cared about making friends in high school. That’s one thing I’m ending my freshmen year with, more friends than I think I have ever had before.

You have a whole new reputation to create since you know no one. If you go to college in your home state your bound to have previously known at least someone else who also attends your college. In my case, I never even met anyone that was from anywhere close to my home city.

I realized when I started attending my college how important family is. I missed my family greatly while I was away and have realized how much they mean to me.

Although you are going to college to learn, it’s really important to know about the town or city your school is in. I did not do this and I regret it greatly.

Going to college in state and out state is different, but you really will get the relatively same experience. I love the people I met. I’ve learned so much about myself so far, but I’m sure I would have if I went to school in state too. I’ve learned that everyone is different in their own way, I’ve learned that people really do go to college for different reasons, I’ve learned the importance of kindness, hard work, and not only how to love myself more, but how to love everyone I meet.

Be Happy.

January Happiness

If you’re new here, or forgot I existed due to my failing to post for a month, monthly happiness is something I post about every month. I take time to reflect on all the good situations I was put in, by choice or on accident over the past, around 30 days.

January was honestly a great month for me. It was full of a lot of different events and adventures that I can’t wait to share.

October Happiness

October was a great month filled with a lot of cool opportunities! If you’re new here, every month I share somethings that made my month great. Why do I do this? To show that even when you don’t think your life is going right there is always going to be something positive!

Why Do Something When Someone Wouldn’t Do It For You?

When I first started my job two years ago I remember asking “Why would you stock for morning crew if they don’t stalk for you?” and my manager responded saying “Because it’s the right thing to do.” I’ve learned a lot for my job but this is something that will stick with me for a while.
